Become a foster provider

The Foster Provider Program serves as a lifeline for rescue animals who are not ready for adoption for various reasons. Our foster providers provide a quiet, stress-free, and loving environment in which these animals can thrive and prepare for their forever home. By offering your time, energy, home, and love to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption and increase the number of animals we can save.

Animals are carefully matched to foster homes according to the animals’ needs and the foster provider’s abilities. Whether you work full-time or are usually home, there may be a foster placement appropriate for you!

Looking for other ways to help?

 

Consider becoming a transport volunteer. As a volunteer, you can assist by transporting rescue animals to vet appointments, adoption events, or foster homes. This is a great option for volunteers who may not be able to foster but still want to contribute. You’ll help ensure our animals receive the care and support they need while they await adoption.

General Volunteer Requirements
Age

ALL volunteers must be 16 years or older. Some restrictions may apply to volunteers who are not 18.

Application

 All volunteers must complete the online application, and agree to a telephone interview.

Participation

Volunteers must participate in a minimum of 2 activities per year to remain in the volunteer program.

Volunteer Relationship

(1) The Volunteer accepts and agrees that they are not an employee, partner, agent, representative or


contractor of Rosewood Foundation Guyana and is donating services for altruistic reasons:


(i) Volunteer has no expectation of any compensation, pay, fee, or benefits for the services.



(2) The Volunteer assumes all risk of injury, including death, to Volunteer’s person and property arising from the services as a volunteer. Volunteer further releases, discharges and holds harmless, for volunteer and volunteer’s heirs, administrators, executors and assigns, Rosewood Foundation Guyana, its directors, officers, employees, agents, administrators, insurers, successors and assigns, from all liability and claims of any and every kind and nature, whether arising out of negligence or otherwise, for any injuries, including death and loss of property, and including but not limited to theft, loss, negligence, invasion of privacy, fire or other acts, and volunteer hereby waives all current and future claims, whether or not known and whether or not foreseeable, against such parties arising from any loss, damage or injury, including death, to volunteer’s person and property arising from the services as a volunteer.



(3) Indemnification: Volunteer agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend, Rosewood Foundation Guyana, its directors, officers, employees, agents, administrators, successors and assigns from and against any and all demands, claims, liabilities, suits, causes of action, judgments, damages, losses, penalties, and/or expenses of any kind or nature whatsoever, including attorneys’ fees, arising, directly or indirectly, from or resulting, directly or indirectly, from volunteer’s performance of volunteer services here-under, however caused and regardless of any actions or omissions of Rosewood Foundation Guyana.



(4) Ideally, we would like our volunteers to be involved in as many projects as possible and while we don’t expect you to be present at every event/ project, if you only have certain times available, let us know and we can work with you. Volunteers are expected to take part in a minimum of 4 events annually. If at any time this becomes impossible for you, please let us know. Volunteers who are consistently inactive will be removed from the volunteer program.
