This past weekend, the lawns of the State House were buzzing with energy, laughter, and an overwhelming sense of community, as First Son Zayd Ali hosted his fourth lemonade sale.
With hundreds turning out to support, the event raised an astonishing $9 million, all of which was donated to eight local animal shelters and organizations committed to the welfare of Guyana’s animals.
We’re deeply honoured to share that The Rosewood Foundation Guyana was once again selected as one of the recipients of this incredible initiative. Thanks to Zayd’s generosity and the support of everyone who came out, we received $1 million, which will go directly toward funding our free spay and neuter outreaches.
As we did last year, these funds will help us continue reducing the stray animal population, prevent unwanted litters, and ease the burden on already stretched resources. Every procedure performed through these clinics makes a lasting impact, and we couldn’t do it without acts of kindness like this.

To Zayd, his family, and everyone involved in making this event a success: thank you for being champions of animal welfare and inspiring a new generation of changemakers.Â
